Joe's Studio

The cottage was designed was to create the feeling that this writer's studio, nicknamed The Casita, "had always been there". This accessory structure incorporates select architectural elements of the main house and was sited to fit within the mature landscaping and plants which were already on the site. The roof is a hand cast clay tile; walls are troweled stucco; heavy beams form the ceiling/roof of the porch; the floors are cork and deep recesses at the windows allow for window seats/storage. Many custom built book shelves house the author's vast collection of literature.
